In Los Angeles, California, Lee Asher grew up with a strange family of nine rescued animals that lived alone. Since he was a young boy, Asher has saved 16 animals because he has always known that he was meant to save them.
Asher spent a lot of time as a child learning about animal rescue at a neighboring animal shelter. He realized that his adult life’s work would be to save animals and assist them in finding homes as much as he could.
Asher told The Dodo during their conversation that
The man invited two cats, Whiskey and Goose, as well as seven dogs, Yaffa, Molly, Cali, BoBo, Butters, Haven, and Lillie, to his home.
He has consistently been able to assist these beings. They all had wonderful lives as a result of being saved from various types of abandonment.
Inspiration is derived from a love of dogs and the understanding that saving a dog also makes it possible for other rescued animals to be adopted. It’s a terrific feeling and a win-win situation.
