If you’re considering getting a pet for yourself or your family, then you should definitely consider adopting a pet.

There are countless cats and dogs out there in shelters across the country who are desperately in need of loving families to care for them.

One example of such a dog was Benny.

Benny was a resident of the Carson Animal Care Center in Gardena, California.

Carson Animal Care Center is a shelter that was founded in 1961, and it is also described as a “high-kill” shelter, according to The Dodo .

Thankfully, Benny recently received some good news.

For a long time, the fate of this shy but lovable pooch had looked very grim.

However, the 8-month-old pit bull managed to win over one specific family who visited the shelter and ultimately decided to adopt him.

Benny had apparently been quite a hit with a few families as it turned out.

“This special little guy captured the hearts of everyone who stopped by his kennel,” the shelter’s staff wrote on Facebook.

However, despite his popularity, it wasn’t until one family actually decided to take him home that the dog was saved from an unpleasant fate.

“He hit the jackpot when this beautiful family chose to take him home,” the shelter’s Facebook page continued.

The family adopting Benny filmed the tearful moment he realized he was getting a new home.

That comes after Benny’s initial trepidation, during which he lurks uneasily at the back of his cage.

Benny is clearly nervous about why he is being removed from his cage, as other dogs bark excitedly in the background.

However, when Benny is put in a leash and taken out to his new family, Benny begins wagging his tail furiously and bouncing for joy.
