The bride’s ailing dog was tenderly carried down the aisle, bringing tears to everyone present

Kelly O’Connell’s wedding day will be remembered for many reasons. It will be remembered not just as the greatest day of her life, when she married her closest friend, but also as the day she had to say goodbye to another, Charlie Bear, a 15-year-old black Labrador, says ilovemydogsomuch.

It was only right that he be there by her side.

Katie Lloyd, Kelly’s maid of honor and sister, would carry Charlie Bear down the aisle on the big day.

The dog had been diagnosed with a brain tumor back in April and would end up passing away on September 9th.

Charlie Bear, rest in peace. You will be remembered and cherished forever.

Jen Dziuvenis, a photographer, documented the scenes while tears streamed from her eyes, reminding herself, “I have to keep shooting even if I’m in a puddle of tears behind the camera.”

What a lovely way to say farewell to her best friend, who had been at her side through it all.
