Unknown as to how they got there, a number of puppies were discovered living in a jungle alone.
It’s fortunate that Friends to the Forlorn Pit Bull Rescue intervened because Henry County Animal Care and Control has a policy of not adopting canines that are considered to be pit bulls.
Animal control asked Friends to the Forlorn Pit Bull Rescue if they would like to rescue the puppies after receiving a call from them.
The rescue’s creator, Jason Flatt, has no qualms about bringing them in.
The three puppies, Krissy, Nugget, and Sunshine, were right once assigned to foster families. The reason Sunshine has a single front paw, meanwhile, remains a mystery.
To help her, they brought her to the vet to get fitted for a prosthetic paw. It will have to do for now to use a flexible leg brace.
The leg brace was no problem for Sunny to adapt to. For each step of development, they would also produce prosthesis in four distinct sizes.
Sunny’s paw may never fully recover from whatever happened to it, but despite having a second chance at life, she is content and healthy.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to advancing this girl’s cause.
