Shortly after her beloved dog passed away, a grieving woman finds solace in seeing his face in the drifting clouds above, a comforting and deeply touching experience

Assuming that our dogs are in a better place is sometimes not enough, which is why it’s always better to get some sort of confirmation through a random but meaningful sign. It’s like a gift from your beloved dog, letting you know that when a dog says “I’ll love you forever,” our dogs mean it.

Lucy was blessed with the greatest gift after Sunny, her 14-year-old family dog passed away on June 20. Only hours after the pup died, her Parson Russel Terrier’s face appeared in the clouds and the picture she took of her dog in the clouds instantly went viral on the internet with over 100.9k likes.

Lucy was sitting in the same car seat where her dog Sunny died from a seizure when her beloved dog’s face appeared in the clouds. Sunny was looking over Lucy and her boyfriend while they drove past Clifton Ings where they used to go for walks.

The moment Lucy recognized Sunny’s face, she laughed to herself and thought ‘that’s my girl’. She considered this occurrence as her dog letting them know that she’s in a better place.

Lucy and her boyfriend couldn’t believe what they saw, it was a special moment that they will treasure forever.

The question that you’re all probably asking yourselves is: Is being emotionally-stressed a factor that increases the likelihood of someone seeing their pet’s face in random environments? Thankfully, Bored Panda managed to provide an answer to that question.

Professor Lee from the University of Toronto stated that he doesn’t know of any scientific study about this particular subject. However, this line of study could potentially become a thing in the future.

Professor Lee said that “being able to ruminate about a dead individual is known to have a positive effect.”

He then added that seeing your pet’ face somewhere can be an indicator “of some sort of mental state such as grieving or anxiety.”

Professor Lee explained in another interview with Bored Panda that pareidolia indicates that our brains are highly sensitive and are constantly expecting encountering objects that are in biologically or socially relevant environments.

He added: “For some people, their frontal cortex’s expectation for certain objects (e.g., faces) become so high that they see faces in many situations where no faces exist. Even in this kind of situation, it is normal. There is nothing wrong with these individuals.”

Professor Lee continued: “Pareidolia is different from paranoia or delusion or abnormal vision of individuals with psychosis. In fact, a recent study shows that those people with pareidolia tend to be more creative. Also, people who are religious may be able to see religious icons in non face objects as well.”
