In a cage with three little Lab puppies, Courtney Wingate discovered them while she was at the neighborhood animal control facility. Being the director of the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, Wingate knew she couldn’t leave the adorable puppies behind, especially when one of them gave her the most lovely smile she had ever seen.
Wingate contacted a volunteer named Sarrah Walton, who hurried over to save the 8-week-old puppies. After the quarterback and coach of his alma mater, Walton gave the puppies the names Joe, Burreaux, and O.
Walton observed Burreaux at the rescue and observed that the pup would immediately flash his small teeth in a huge grin if someone spoke to him in a loud voice and told him he was a good boy.
When you treat him incredibly well, that’s when… Walton observed of the Dodo, “He has this smile as though he wants something.” “It’s as if he’s calling out to be petted and loved,”
When it was time for the puppies to start looking for forever homes, the rescue posted a video of Joe’s natural talent at fetch. Immediately, Joe was adopted.
The entire litter was pleasant and charming, and they enjoyed playing, said Walton. “Burreaux and his sister are also acquiring fetching skills.”
And so, according to Walton, “we thought, ‘Burreaux wants a home so badly that he’s always smiling, trying to cute it up. Therefore, that video we produced is currently trending online.

In just a few days, more than 40,000 people have watched the video showing Burreaux’s broad grin. Despite their recent online success, Burreaux and his sister O are still in search of their forever home.
The puppies recognized their good fortune when Wingate and Walton saved them from the kill shelter. However, Burreaux and his sister are hoping to have a home and a loving family soon, so they can grin about something more long-lasting.
