This is the story of a man named David who opened his heart and home to a charming black cat named Scrappy, born in 1997. Scrappy’s sleek coat was entirely black, and as one would naturally assume, it appeared that it would remain that way forever.

However, when Scrappy celebrated his seventh birthday, something quite extraordinary started happening. David began to notice the white spots on his feline companion’s once-solid black fur. Can you imagine the shock on his face?

This fascinating phenomenon was attributed to vitiligo, an exceedingly rare skin condition. Vitiligo was responsible for this astonishing marbling effect that gradually adorned Scrappy’s coat.

As he kept aging, the marbling effect became more and more emphasized. By the time Scrappy reached the ripe age of 19, he had acquired a truly unique and captivating appearance.

David, Scrappy’s loving human dad, couldn’t resist sharing his furry friend’s journey on Facebook, which made him quite popular in the feline world. 

However, David humorously admitted that Scrappy wasn’t always the most cooperative model, often turning away when the camera made an appearance.

Still, he was determined to document Scrappy’s daily adventures and provide his fans with engaging content.

Beyond his striking appearance, Scrappy possessed a sweet and endearing personality. He was an affectionate kitty, who ruled the streets. 

David fondly recounted how Scrappy would pick fights with the neighborhood cats and return home with a few battle scratches. In essence, Scrappy was determined to be the undisputed boss of his domain.

Tragically, this remarkable feline’s journey came to an end in 2017, at the remarkable age of 20. He peacefully crossed the Rainbow Bridge, with his human dad David, and grandma by his side. 

They were heartbroken but determined to never forget him, as he would be cherished in their hearts and minds.
