Pets adore having their owners care for them and pet them. However, being touched felt like a dream to this Border Collie, who had a rough beginning in life.

The dog, who was formerly known as Kong, lived in a Claremore, Oklahoma, shelter for a year under conditions of abuse. He appeared devasted, with most of his fur falling off in spots and sunburned skin when the staff at Border Collie Rescue & Rehab (Texas) discovered him. Later on, people found out that Kong was completely undisturbed by a serious skin ailment.

Kong was given the number #387 on the website of Border Collie Rescue & Rehab after being taken in and healing for several months.

Truly, though, love truly has no rhyme or reason. Curtis Hartsell, for example, didn’t even need a name to fall in love with the white puppy who smiled at him. The man followed his heart and filed the application, even though he was concerned that his hectic schedule might not allow him to care for the puppy.

He said to The Dodo, “I immediately fell in love with his single picture and the description they put on the page after looking through his profile.” “When I briefly explained my life to his foster mother, she said we sounded like the ideal match for each other, and she went on to describe his temperament and personality.”

The two were able to wait for the day they could finally meet, which was an emotional occasion, following a rigorous procedure of interviews and house visits.

Kong’s new owner wants to start over, so he changed his name to ZIB. Hartsell felt as though they had actually known each other previously when he saw the dog for the first time. Those who observed ZIB cuddling the new dad with delight and happiness started crying.

His leash was given to me. I knelt down in front of him, introduced myself, and asked if he wanted to follow me home, according to Hartsell’s account. “I’m going to refer to you as ZIB. Are you fond of that? ZIB, how about taking me home with you? He sat in front of me, glanced into my eyes, gave me a hug, and lowered his head. I will always remember that wonderful moment.

“I feel so much happier and fulfilled that words just cannot express how I feel. It’s wonderful to know that this poor puppy was once abandoned and that all he needed was love, which I get to give him every day now,” the man continued.

We are pleased for ZIB, the puppy who used to be in so much pain that he couldn’t tolerate being touched, and now he is begging for attention and cuddles.
