In a world where the number of ᴀʙᴀɴᴅoɴᴇᴅ and mistreated animals continues to climb, it is sad to hear stories like the one I saw this morning. She was flung over the fence, unable to sit up, and crying in pain. That begs the question, why would somebody do such a horrible thing?
As if spotting dogs and puppies on the streets wasn’t enough, some people think it’s appropriate to “help” by dropping them over the fence of tiny shelters. It’s a hard scenario, especially when you consider that other people lodge complaints against those trying to help.
This morning was no exception. I noticed a sick puppy inside the shelter, possibly hit due of the fall. He couldn’t sit up and was crying in pain, displaying indicators of respiratory issues. I immediately started treating him with infusion for hydration and provided antibiotics.
As I was treating the puppy, another lady arrived with a healthy puppy. She informed me that she didn’t want to leave it on the street or toss it out. The puppy was hungry and ate nicely.
It’s awful to watch the brutal treatment of innocent animals. The least we can do is offer them with the love and attention they deserve. We must educate the public on ethical pet ownership and the significance of spaying and neutering their pets to prevent additional abandonment and neglect.
We must also campaign for harsher legislation and consequences for people who participate in such terrible actions against animals. Together, we can make a difference and ᴀssure a brighter future for our animal friends.
