Julit t golden retriever is presently working with a trainer seven days a week to help make Memphis Rose, who was recently injured in an automobile accident, more comfortable.
When golden retriever Juliette, 4 months, and newly paralyzed Memphis Rose Hamm, 6 months, met for the first time on July 27 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, it was love at first sight.
“Julit took one glance at Memphis Rose and jumped onto her lap licking and cuddling,” her mother, Gayrene Meade, 30, tells PEOPLE.
“My daughter has a great deal of respect for veterans. S was so delighted to see Julit that she smiled the biggest smile I had ever seen, especially after learning that the adorable dog was going to be hers. That was a great moment for me after a few terrible weeks.
On June 7 evening, Meade, a single mother, received the devastating news that her daughter, Memphis Rose, had been murdered. Tya Meade, r l Kenneth Graden, was involved in a head-on, multi-vehicle collision at Welligton, a location in western Palm Beach County.
Graden, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was taken to the hospital the day following the accident. Tya, who was driving the 2012 Scion family vehicle, received a fractured knee, while Memphis Rose, who was sitting directly behind Graden, sustained a punctured lung, a fractured and dislocated neck, and a fractured si.

“The influence caused my daughter to enroll in genetic counseling,” adds Meade. “She was without breath for two and a half minutes and was unable to move. Fortunately, a member of the cast performed CPR until a Trama Hawk air ambulance transported the patient to St. Mary’s Medical Center. T neurosurgeon stated, “r spinal ijury is one from which you may not recover, therefore your chances of survival are slim.”
Memphis Rose was placed on heavy doses during her first two weeks in the hospital, but as her condition deteriorated, she was gradually weaned off of them. S wishes to have surgical tracheostomy and remains on a ventilator. Memphis Rose cannot walk; her revival is a daily process that might take months or years.
Meade states, “Memphis Rose has only sobbed twice.” “S has always been immobile, but she is determined to move again. Even though I am a girl who loves sparkling things and unicorns, my tenacity might help me on my trip.”
Memphis Rose was able to meet with golden retriever Julit through Jupiter resident Lori Griffith, who started Chai A Dream Foundation, a local organization that assists children with life-threatening illnesses.
“I was unaware that Memphis Rose had always desired a .” I contacted my contacts at the Furry Friends Rescue Center in Jupiter, and what they told me gave me goosebumps and made my heart throb with happiness,” Griffith tells PEOPLE.

After their initial meeting, Memphis Rose has had the opportunity to visit Juliette three or four times. Each time they have been reunited, their lives have evolved into what Meade calls a “made-for-TV Disney movie.”
Julit accompanied Memphis Rose on the journey to Philadelphia’s Shriners Hospitals for Children for a few weeks of physical therapy.
“It really helped Memphis to have him on that team,” Meade adds.

Julit is currently back in Florida reuniting with Earhart, which will take at least a year. Memphis Rose Meade will travel to Florida for a second week in the hospital in mid-September, when they will determine what the best course of treatment will be and what medications are required.
They will construct a new single-story home with a porch for Memphis Rose and a yard for Juliette. Memphis Rose will be allowed to see Juliet while he continues to travel with Amelia Earhart.
“Memphis Rose will marry Juliette, they will have children, and Juliette will eventually be among us all the time,” adds Meade.
Earhart is presently working with Julius seven days a week in Palm City, north of West Palm Beach, to finish a boot camp-style training regimen. This project is being funded by Leeds Enablement, a local organization that helps handicapped people have healthy, productive, independent lives.
“Julit was born to be a Memphis Rose,” Earhart explains to PEOPLE. “But, my program is extensive, so I must determine how much public access oxygen will require. Memphis Rose is a quadriplegic, thus she must not become very excited or have emotional outbursts in response to anything she encounters.
With our advanced obedience training, Juliette will be allowed to think for herself. S will be allowed to turn the lights on and off, snuggle Memphis Rose into bed, as well as contact r mtg if the ventilator beeps or if there is any other unanticipated complication.
“I have had no problems with Julit,” said Earhart, who has been dating Julit since she was 12 years old. “S is enthusiastic and excels at socialization, toilet training, and environmental obedience. Not much, the situation is about to explode. “Julit is not an itt.”
With Earhart taking Juliette to the grocery shop, Juliette becomes acquainted with welcigs, sliding ors, gts, gs, and l. Tu l wim, stroll, g, evguthig ty in order to introduce t to w experiences.
“Because we can not control everything, we are encouraging Juliette to travel and experience as much as possible; whatever occurs is OK with us,” explains Earhart. “Memphis Rose is pleased that Juliette is doing well, and I feel fortunate to have made a difference in this child’s life.”
