Princess the Cat Has ‘Fan Club’ After Leap to Turned Off Ceiling Fan

Princess the cat gets a ‘fan club’ after a TikTok shows her leaping to a ceiling fan. (see below).

⚠️ Note: Don’t worry though, the fan was off.

Many of us love watching cat videos, and the social media platform TikTok certainly gives us that fix. There are millions of hilarious, sad, spicy, life-saving, and incredible cat videos on websites across the internet. But this viral TikTok video of kitty vs. fan created an instant fan club for Princess.

Cat vs. Ceiling fan

TikTok user keeleymcmahon98 posted a hilarious video of their kitty calculating a jump from a shelf over a fireplace mantle (a very nice fireplace may I add) to a ceiling fan.

In the video we see the adorable feline calculating physics, then executing the task only to fail hilariously (and harmlessly).

We’re not sure if the owner didn’t think the kitty would jump, but they certainly did – sending the fan and kitty into a spiral. The cat can be seen hanging onto one of the ceiling fan’s blades for dear life and looking at their owner like, “Are you gonna help me or keep sitting there?!”

Luckily though, as soon as the owner who filmed the entire incident stood up, kitty dropped down on their own to the ground. You can check out the entire TikTok video below:

The Princess Fan Club

All in all, the cat is perfectly safe and no animals were harmed in the video.

According to the Daily Mail, the cat’s name is Princess, and was about nine months old at the time. She lives with her human, Keeley McMahon, 39, in Kingston upon Hull in the UK. While McMahon was watching TV with her husband Mike, 39, they witnessed Princess make the leap, and later assured everyone the cat was “absolutely fine.” 

Since the video was uploaded, it’s been viewed over 6 million times, over 116,000 likes, and over 1,000 comments. Some of the comments on the video are:

“I love that you sat there filming knowing what was about to happen and then suddenly panicking when it happened.”

“I think he saw that going differently in his head.”

“It just wanted to go on a joy ride.”

“He just became part of the ‘fan club’.”

“I’m not gonna do it I’m just thinking about it.😻👌👏👏”

“Weeeeeeeeeee….the cat has been dying to do that😂.”

Unfortunately, there is just the one TikTok, so Princess’ fans can only hope for more. 

Cats are Family

Fun tidbit: Did you know that the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health published a study that revealed around 1,800 cat owners saw pets much like human family?

What does roles that mirror human relationships mean? Here’s an example: 27 percent of cat owners involved in the study chose the relationship description “my cat is like a child to me” from a series of responses. 52 percent of cat owners also described their pet as being “part of the family.” Well we certainly agree with that study!

It’s no surprise to us: cats are family, and in Princess’ case, acrobatic daredevil family.
